Officially founded in August of 2017, Red Rabbit Automation is a spinoff of Vickers Engineering, Inc., a Tier 1 Automotive, Defense and Energy Sector supplier. Red Rabbit Automation is located in Niles, MI, central to the heart of U.S. manufacturing. We know manufacturing! Through our team's experience at Vickers Engineering, we realized that we could provide substantial value to other manufacturers by offering automation integration services. We are able to design and build turnkey independent cells, as well as offering service and repair of the systems. Our team has extensive knowledge in robotic machine tending cells and can design and build in-line gauging, in-line assembly machine and other IIoT related processes to streamline a variety of manufacturing needs.
While assuming the role of President/CEO of Red Rabbit Automation, Matt also serves as the CEO of Vickers Engineering. A contract Machining supplier to mature industries such as Automotive and Oil & Gas, Vickers Engineering has leveraged Red Rabbit’s automation expertise to become a critical supplier to the likes of Toyota, Honda and FMC Technologies. A 1994 DePauw University graduate, Matt, along with his respective roles at RRA and Vickers, is a current or past Board Director for Littleford Day Corporation, the Southwest Michigan Economic Growth Alliance, the Berrien County Manufacturers Council, the Tri-County Manufacturers Council, the Lake Michigan College Capital Campaign, and other various community boards. Since 2011, Matt has become a regular contributor for CNBC’s Street Signs, and has represented Red Rabbit and Vickers in various publications, including the Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine, and Automotive News.
VP Corporate Development
In his current role, Corey focuses on identifying and evaluating new growth opportunities and designing initiatives primary through strategic partnerships, talent development and long-term corporate strategy. Corey comes to the Red Rabbit team with a unique skill set; an Economic, Business and Workforce Development background, enhanced by over 18 years’ experience in the Manufacturing Industry. Corey has served in key leadership positions in community, workforce, and business development, helping initiate and implement regional business and economic development alliance collaboration, to foster growth and promote the economic vitality of the region and The Industry. Integral to Corey’s efficacy is his strength in identifying and attracting innovative revenue solutions for talent acquisition in both new and existing industries. Corey works directly to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders in community economic development and education in strategic planning, including tactics and initiatives to cultivate and augment the talent pipeline, particularly in the Manufacturing Industry. Corey received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management from Florida State University and is also a graduate from the University of Oklahoma, Economic Development Institute where he also serves on the Board of Directors. In his free time, Corey enjoys spending time with his family, coaching and supporting his children in hockey, soccer, baseball and robotics.
Vice President of Operations
A native of the Chicago area, John joined the Red Rabbit Automation team bringing 35+ years of entrepreneurial experience in the Automation industry. With past customers such as: Chrysler, Ford, General Electric, Kraft Foods, 3M, ITW, Motorola, Andersen Windows, and Kimberly Clark, John brings expertise in many manufacturing technologies such as assembly, machining, converting, and molding to name a few… After receiving his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Bradley University, and his double Master’s degree in Computer science and Physics at DePaul University, John built two successful automation companies from the ground up where he held all leadership roles and developed expertise in all aspects of the business. John has been active with Boy Scout leadership in his community, taught boating safety courses with the U.S Power Squadron, and is a member of a vintage sports car racing team where he consults on technical issues and restorations.
